Anne of Vivid Imagination

The book Anne of Green Gables has been an engaging story. I have reached page ninety-five with still so many surprises ahead. The book is by far much better than the movie of it but watching the movie before helped me imagine the story in my head better. It has been both a loving and hilarious story. Brother and sister, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert adopted Anne and since then her life has been nothing, but an adventure. I enjoy the way L.M. Montgomery uses vivid words when Anne is describing a place she thinks is beautiful. One example is when she replaces the name Barry’s Pond to The Lake of Shining Waters. She does not think like everyone else. Her imagination or romance is within everything she says. The dialect is the only thing that is sometimes hard to understand, but I am getting used to it. The quote “You mayn’t get the things themselves; but nothing can prevent you from having the fun of looking forward to them.” keeps Anne from getting discouraged from disappointments in life. I am looking forward to reading more of this book.
