I haven’t gone far enough to give a good explanation but in the recent 50 pages, They have collectively agreed that they weren’t going to do anything else but find the cure for Mekhi (their friend who is slowly dying). Right now they are in Ireland (where the gargoyle court is located) interrogating a hunter who was sent to kill Grace’s people. I appreciate the different aspects you get the book is very chaotic for me it makes it easier to imagine it playing out. For example they only went to the gargoyle court to get Jikan (god of time) and speak to him about the shadow realm to save Mekhi, but when they got there a huge football game is going on and Jikan refuses to talk until the game is over. Even before the group even realized the football game Artelya came up to them to tell them about the prisoner they have to torture. And the prisoner stronger then me I would’ve never stepped foot on their mountains. The hunter/prisoner was talking about “Just go ahead and kill me already. I’ve taken enough of your kind with me to die with pride.” Like you could never catch me in Ireland ever in my lifetime, that is for white people. The only thing I find challenging but not only from the book but the whole series is that the main character Grace is dumber then bricks, but she only realizes her mistake after someone dies.
